About the Director
Toni Brown is a trained professional actress and qualified Learning
mentor, who has worked extensively in both Theatre and with Children
for 10 years. She currently teaches Drama and social skills at a Stage
school for children, and alongside her acting career runs workshops
for both children and adults on a variety of topics such as, "Improving
Self-confidence" and "Anger management".
Previously, Toni was the Education officer and workshop leader coordinator
for Shakespeare 4 Kidz, working with children in EAZ
and EiC schools. She also worked as the Director of Education for Outside
Edge Theatre Company and lead workshops on dealing with addiction,
domestic violence and abuse.
Toni has toured nationwide with educational plays and interactive workshops,
delivering to schools, theatres, hospitals, prisons, juvenile detention
centres and Rehab clinics. She has run two youth theatre groups in London
and is actively involved with community theatre.
Toni also runs INSET sessions and training for both parents and professionals
on subjects such as "Stimulating the multiple intelligences" and "Using
drama to combat behavioural problems in children".
Toni has most recently worked with children on a one to one basis as
an Inclusive Learning Tutor with the Hastings and St Leonard's Excellence
Cluster. Using a combination of counselling techniques and creative
therapy, her work aimed to help children with special educational needs
to become more engaged with learning.
